An Effective Resource Allocation Scheme in Relay Enhanced LTE-A

چکیده

Long Term Evolution-Advanced (LTE-A) is a mobile communication standard of high-speed data for mobile phones and data terminals. LTE-A inherits all basic technologies of LTE such as Orthogonal Frequency Division multiplexing access, Multiple Input Multiple Output, Flexible bandwidth and Provides new features to improve the capacity and Performance. Some of the new features supports by LTE-A are: wider Bandwidth, Advanced Multiple Input Output Technique, Co-operative Multiple Transmission and Reception, Relaying. LTE-Advanced will have to co-exist with 2G and 3G cellular systems for some time, so interworking necessities, resource management, potential interference etc. remain an important issues. The role of Radio Resource Management (RRM) is to ensure that the radio resources are efficiently used, taking advantage of the available adaptation techniques, and to serve the users according to their configured Quality of Service (QoS) parameters. To facilitate the resource assignment, Relay techniques provided a high degree of flexibility in terms of the types of RNs, type of deployment, functions performed by Relay Node (RN), and protocol definitions. Determining the best relay is a challenging task and requires a best selection algorithm because the relays are geographically separated and only have local channel knowledge. Selecting the bets relay is equivalent to the relay with the largest metric, where each relay computes its metric using local channel knowledge, in order to meet the performance targets such as cell edge throughput, user fairness, minimizing power consumption.
